Our Story

The Gentle Earth Project began with a vision of creating sustainable and impactful change in developing countries, growing from a simple idea into a comprehensive initiative aimed at transforming communities and environments around the world.

Sahara Sunday Spain's journey into philanthropy started at the tender age of three, spending six months (with her mother) with Mother Teresa in Calcutta, India. Her childhood was a tapestry of global experiences, influenced by her mother's work as a photographer capturing the lives of indigenous people with limited Western contact. At nine, Sahara encountered children in a Dogon village in Mali who were unable to attend school. Driven by a desire to make a difference, she built and financed a school for girls, running it successfully for thirteen years until it was closed due to civil unrest.

These early experiences, witnessing poverty and the need for sustainable development firsthand, shaped Sahara's vision for the Gentle Earth Project. Leveraging her extensive background in law and business, Sahara crafted a for-profit model that benefits both shareholders and stakeholders. She assembled an exceptional team of experts, educators, healthcare professionals, psychologists, and stakeholder engagement specialists, committed to realizing a better world. Utilizing circular economic methodologies, top-of-the-line green technology, and a holistic development strategy, Sahara and her team are poised to deliver impactful returns for GEP investors and transformative benefits for the countries where projects will be launched.
